HSEO in partnership with the Hong Kong Red Cross, has successfully completed a first of a kind 12-day blood donation marathon campaign from 16 to 31 March.

This unique campaign featured a blood drive, an interactive exhibition booth and a Young Donor Medal prize giving event which aimed to raise awareness about the importance of blood donations and encourage active participation within the university community.

We are thrilled to share that the campaign attracted 383 members, with 137 of them being new donors, who come forward to give blood in a designated blood donation vehicle located at the Piazza. Together, these exceptional individuals made a significant contribution to the community’s blood supply.

We are also pleased to announce that the Hong Kong Red Cross awarded 31 HKUST members with the prestigious Young Donor Medal. The medal was given in recognition of those who successfully donated blood three times between the ages of 16 to 25. This is a remarkable achievement that highlights the dedication and generosity of our members.

HSEO would like to extend our heartfelt gratitude to all donors who stepped forward to help save lives during this or past campaigns. Giving blood is a noble act of selflessness and every member who donated played an important role in improving the lives of people in need. We appreciate the generosity of members and seek your continuous support in the future.

Join us for our next blood donation campaign from 9 to 13 October in the new school year, when we will not just hold blood drives, but also set up a mobile donation station at the Library. Don't miss it and see you there !
