Introducing Two New Senior Staff of HSEO
Mr Benny Ng joined HSEO as our Head (Campus and Engineering Safety) in October 2024. He obtained a master’s degree in engineering and is a Registered Safety Officer and Registered Safety Auditor of the Hong Kong Labour Department.
Benny has over 20 years of Health and Safety experience. He has worked in various industries including manufacturing, waste management and design consultants. He has strong operation safety background, managing safety in different manufacturing plants and construction sites in Hong Kong and other Asian countries. Benny was also a part-time tutor of Li Ka Shing School of Professional and Continuing Education of Metropolitan University, teaching the diploma course in health and safety management for 5 years.
Benny is now our Head in-charge of Campus and Engineering Safety. He works closely with CDO, CMO and other campus units to ensure engineering and operational safety. Please feel free to contact Benny if you need help or have questions in these areas.
Also joining in October 2024, Dr Priscilla Lee is our new Head (DG and Centre of Laboratory Supplies). Priscilla obtained her MPhil in Chemistry in HKUST and a PhD in CUHK, she also received a master’s degree in safety, Occupational Health and Environmental Management as well as Energy and Environmental Sustainability at The Hong Kong Metropolitan University.
Priscilla started her career first as a postdoctoral researcher in Singapore, the United States and Hong Kong. She began her safety career at HKBU specializing in laboratory safety and chemical management. She then moved to HKU as their Chemical Safety Manager, she was also in-charge of DG stores and supplying chemicals for researchers. She then returned to HKBU as a senior manager in campus safety where she managed a team of safety officers. Before joining HKUST, she was an OSH Manager of the Hospital Authority Head Office in charge of chemical safety and occupational hygiene. Priscilla is a Registered Safety Officer and a Registered Professional Hygienist.
Priscilla is responsible for the operations of the Center of Laboratory Supplies (CLS) and management of Dangerous Goods of the University. If you need any assistance, please feel free to contact her.
